Absorbs Rain Like A Sponge

I am disappointed to have to give this a 1 star review, but i hope this review will save someone $250. I was skeptical about the rain jacket's performance but decided to take a chance after being convinced by the nice sales lady. Aside from being light weight and easy to carry, the jacket performs horribly in the rain. Worse than I could have ever imagined. I tested the jacket on a run where it was drizzling outside. After 30 minutes, the rain jacket was completely soaked through and was more of a sponge that stuck to my skin. I would have been better off not wearing the rain jacket at all. If you are looking for a light rain jacket that actually works, I would not recommend wasting your hard earned money on this product. I used this product once and sadly will never use it again.

Absorbs Water Like a Sponge

I wish I could recommend this product but I cannot. I do like that it is lightweight and easy to carry, but it is anything but a rain jacket. I tested it on a run with a slight drizzle and after 30 minutes the jacket was absorbing the rain like a sponge and sticking to my skin. I would have been far better off not wearing the rain jacket. So sadly, after spending $250, the jacket is sitting in my closet and will never be used again. I thought about throwing it away, after the one time I used it but since I spent $250 I haven't been able to do that yet. When purchasing the jacket, I was highly skeptical that it would work as a rain jacket but the sales lady convinced me otherwise. I should have trusted my instincts. If you are looking for a rain jacket that you can rely on, look elsewhere or you will be very disappointed.

Staying dry and happy!!

This jacket is a necessity for my gear closet! Keeping me dry and comfortable on the bike and long hikes. The updated fit and material both seem to be great improvements upon an already excellent jacket. Even as light and packable as the Scout is, I still feel confident going into really wet days in the mountains.

When it Rains it Pours

This jacket is superb for several reasons. When you're in need of something to keep you dry on a mountain trail run or bike ride, this is the perfect choice. It's super lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. It's been keeping me dry all summer long during my adventures in the mountains and activities around town. The material may seem thin compared to an ultra thick rain jacket, but I prefer having something that is easier to pack away into a tiny ball when I'm carrying a lot of other gear in my pack. The armpit vents are awesome. And the chest pocket is great for snacks. And the hood fits comfortably overhead. Count on this jacket to have on any adventure!

hasn't left my side

Got this ahead of a running race overseas. I wanted the mandatory gear, a waterproof jacket, to be as light as possible. After getting it and seeing how small it packs up, I have brought it with me everywhere. It stays in my pack even if I don't think there will be weather. It's so light and doesn't have that waterproof-y feeling against your skin, so it's replaced my patagonia houdini as the jacket to leave around. Why wouldn't you bring this thing? Haven't tested it yet but hoping this will be my spring mission ski shell too.
